Classes & Placement Testing

Registering for Classes:
All international students must be cleared for registering by International Student Services. Students are encouraged to utilize PVPlace (https://www.pvamu.edu/pvplace/). PVPlace is the place for students, faculty and staff to easily locate and use web content they need on a regular basis. It integrates several PVAMU Web applications like PantherTracks, Panther Email and other online services into one convenient and secure location.

For students, the portal will allow for easy access to on-line bill paying, registering for classes, using financial aid, locating campus resources and accessing eCourses and PantherEmail.

Online Class Registration:
International students must pay close attention to U.S. regulation surrounding enrollment in Online Classes (Distance Learning). Each semester only one (3 hour) online class may be counted towards a full course of study. This regulation does not restrict how many online courses a student may take each semester – it restricts the number of online course hours that can be counted towards a full course of study.

Full Time Enrollment:
International students are required to enroll full-time for each Fall and Spring semester. If Summer semester is considered optional for enrollment, unless it is your first or final semester. A full course load for an undergraduate student is 12 credit hours. Students must take at least 9 hours of face-to-face classes and the remaining 3 hours (or more) can be online. For graduate students, a full course load is 9 credit hours. Students must take at least 6 hours of face-to-face classes and the remaining 3 hours (or more) can be online.
