ISS Portal FAQs

  1. What is the ISS Portal? - The International Student Portal is administered through the Prairie View A&M University’s  Office of International Student Services (ISS).The International Student Portal allows students to submit and manage their requests, update their International Student Immigration Profile, as well as interact with the Office of International Student Services (ISS) all in one place electronically!
  2. How do I start a Request with ISS? - Students can find a list of available ISS Requests from the ISS Portal’s Main Homepage (https://iss.pvamu.edu/) by clicking on the left hand tab titled “Student Requests”. To begin a request, click on the title of the request.
    • Students must be logged into the site to initiate/complete a request. Additionally, if you have already started a request, but not yet finished, please continue to work on that request by visiting the Records section of your Student User Home Page.
  3. How do I login in to the ISS Portal? - To login to the ISS Portal, students will need to visit the ISS Portal website at https://iss.pvamu.edu/ and select the text LOGIN in the top right hand corner of the screen. 
  4. Which button do I select on the Login Screen to login? - Incoming & Current Students (those who are still pursuing their academic program at PVAMU), should select the button titled “Newly Admitted & Current Students”. This will prompt you, as the student, to login with your Prairie View A&M University credentials. These will be your Username & Password for the ISS Portal. Students who are on OPT or STEM OPT, should select the button titled “OPT & STEM OPT Students” to login. Now will be the time you create your user login credentials. Once selected, you will be asked to provide your username & password for the site. Your username will be your email address associated with your ISS Portal profile, and your password will be whatever you set it as when you logged in the first time in the Portal.
  5. Is the ISS Portal the same as the SEVP Portal? - No, the SEVP Portal and the ISS Portal are two separate portals. They are not administered by the same organizations.
  6. I am a student on OPT/STEM OPT and forgot my password to the ISS Portal. How do I reset it? - Students who are on OPT or STEM OPT, and forget their password for the ISS Portal, should select the text on the login screen titled ‘Forgot your Password?’. Once selected, you will be prompted to enter in your email address; please note that this email address must be the email address associated with your ISS Portal Profile.
  7. When I login in, what will I see on my Student User Home Page? - Once logged in, students will land on their Student User Home Page, known as their International Student Immigration Profile. The Student User Home Page is divided into three sections:
    • Records: This section houses any requests that are associated with your ISS Portal Immigration Profile. This includes requests that have been completed for you historically, as well as records that you may have just started or submitted to ISS for processing.
    • Profile: By selecting the button titled ‘Edit Profile’, you will be able to access your ISS Portal Immigration Profile. Please note that any fields in your Profile that are grayed out are not available for students to edit. Students are encouraged to complete the following as part of their profiles:
      • Personal Email Address
      • SMS (Mobile Text) Phone Number
      • Bio: Tell ISS a little more about you!
      • ID Photo: Add a photo of yourself
    • Messages: If ISS has sent you any emails through the ISS Portal, a carbon copy of those emails will be found in your Messages section. Although the message will also land in your mailbox, the Messages section offers another great way to keep track of information from ISS! 
  8. How do I submit a Request for ISS to process? - Once you have completed all the required elements for a request, to submit your request for ISS to review, you must click on the button titled “Submit” at the top of the page. Failure to hit the “Submit” button will result in ISS not reviewing your request.  
  9. How do I know that a Request I submitted to ISS was received? - When you are ready to submit a request to ISS, you will need to click on the SUBMIT button at the top page of the request. As long as you have completed all the requirements within the request, your request will be sent to ISS for review. As confirmation, you will see a large green banner displayed with your submission date and time stamp.
  10. How do I find a Form I-20 or other documents that were shared with me from ISS? Once a document has been shared with you from ISS, you will be able to see it within the Attached Documents section of a request. For example, if your Form I-20 shared with you is from a CPT Request, please visit the CPT Request that you submitted and locate the Attached Documents section on the bottom left hand side of the page. To access the document, please click on the hyperlinked title. Remember, this is a new portal being utilized by ISS; historical documents may not be present.
